Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Trata-se do mais pequeno Aston Martin de sempre, com 4.38m de comprimento, 2.02m de largura e 1.25m de altura, mas na minha opinião o mais espectacular.
Este "bichinho" apresenta toda a electrónica hoje disponível, incluíndo de série o controlo de estabilidade, ABS(EBD+EBA) e até um sistema (Positive Torque Control) que evita a patinagem das rodas nas reduções. Não surpreende que assim seja quando se está perante um automóvel que tem sob o capô um imponente e, como diz o construtor, "musical" V8 de 4,3 litros a debitar 380CV e com o respeitável binário de 410Nm, geridos por uma caixa manual de seis velocidades. Tudo isto significa a capacidade de acelerar de 0 a 100Km/h em 5 segundos e de atingir dos 280Km/h em velocidade de ponta. Este Aston Martin assenta sobre uma estrutura em alumínio, material que é também usado nas suspensões de triângulos sobrepostos (à frente e atrás), nos amortecedores e em componentes da carroçaria como o tejadilho e o capô. As preocupações com o peso (tonelada e meia) levaram a recorrer também ao magnésio e aos materiais compostos.
Este repositório de maravilhas não impede que a Aston Martin faça ponto de honra num pormenor: tudo continua a ser acabado à mão por operários especializados. No que respeita ao equipamento, além dos bancos ajustáveis electricamente, do rádio com carregador para seis CD's e do computador de bordo, praticamente tudo o que se exige a este nível figura na lista de opções!
